I just moved into a new place, and the best place to mount the tv is in a weird corner.  Before hackerspace:  &#8220;ugh.  Where else can it go.\u00c2\u00a0 $200 for a swivel mount is way too expensive!&#8221;\u00c2\u00a0  After hackerspace:  &#8220;$30 in steel and a welder.  This is going to be AWESOME!&#8221;<\/p>\n<h2>Design<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/38917611@N08\/3855532233\/sizes\/l\/\" title=\"tvmount design by br3ttb, on Flickr\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3550\/3855532233_f96c85a4b8_b.jpg\" width=\"450\" height=\"296\" alt=\"tvmount design\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Originally the plan was to weld one solid mount, but when it comes to welding, and construction in general, things don&#8217;t always go according to plan. (Oh. Did I mention we have a milling machine?)<\/li>\n<li>Weld it together<\/li>\n<li>Paint it (to hide my ugly welds)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Mounting<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/38917611@N08\/3855531507\/sizes\/l\/\" title=\"L-Brackets on TV by br3ttb, on Flickr\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm3.static.flickr.com\/2501\/3855531507_c9012d943a_b.jpg\" width=\"150\" height=\"113\" alt=\"L-Brackets on TV\" \/><\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/38917611@N08\/3856320586\/sizes\/l\/\" title=\"Mount Slots by br3ttb, on Flickr\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm3.static.flickr.com\/2493\/3856320586_d12945d24d_b.jpg\" width=\"150\" height=\"113\" alt=\"Mount Slots\" \/><\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/38917611@N08\/3856320470\/sizes\/l\/\" title=\"TV Attached by br3ttb, on Flickr\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm3.static.flickr.com\/2497\/3856320470_d74b464800_b.jpg\" width=\"150\" height=\"113\" alt=\"TV Attached\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Mounting procedure was pretty easy as well:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Do some pull-ups on the mount to make sure it will hold the weight<\/li>\n<li>Mount slotted, slightly bent, L-brackets to the TV<\/li>\n<li>Bolt TV to the mount<\/li>\n<li>Make left-right, tilt adjustments<\/li>\n<li>Tighten everything down<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>And that&#8217;s it.\u00c2\u00a0 I&#8217;m really proud of it.\u00c2\u00a0 Mostly I&#8217;m proud of the fact that my TV hasn&#8217;t fallen in the middle of the night.\u00c2\u00a0 Materials cost wound up being $40.  1.25&#8243; slotted angle, 4 L-brackets, and a can of spraypaint.
